There is a great deal of spam all through the wiki.
Needs a big clean up and some preventions put in place. Here is an example. http://game-engine.visual3d.net/ille...cans-dont-want |

Thanks for bringing this back to our attention. The comments are festering with spam (99% approx). We're raising the priority on dealing with this now, quickly. Thanks!

More spam found in the comments here:
http://game-engine.visual3d.net/wiki...-animation-v32 Also in the Game Engine Manuals sidebar is a LOT of spam which is highly inappropriate, nothing to do with the use of Visual3D and is messing up the wiki for people looking for information and tutorials. I'm removing their links from the posts as well and Marking them as SPAM to make them easier to find if you use a filter. Now if only I could delete the stupid spam comments. Thanks for the note. We've just been disabling comments from all wiki pages in the interim, to prevent this spam. Thanks for your help here.

I use this: http://www.projecthoneypot.org
To prevent bots and other undesirables from spamming my sites. I'm not sure what Wiki software you guys use but I've also enabled ReCaptcha to prevent bots from making random accounts on my site. |

I'd also like to stress that having so much spam with so many outgoing links most search engines won't even bother indexing V3D at all. Google Page Rank 4/10 and 25000+ indexed pages on your domain means that any general searcher will never stumble upon you. And I myself found about V3D digged deep inside some wiki page about engines. Its better to at least wipe it clean and close discussions until this can be solved.

It's getting out of control, probably going to have to assign a dedicated community member to wiki cleanup.

Is there anymore of it? We've disabled comments on every page that I know of -- did I miss some? Disabling Comments prevents this form of spam.
If you see any wiki pages with spam, please report them here, so that I can "fix" them as well. |
